I am glad to have started as the new Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Science in April. My goal for the next years is to maintain the high quality of our education and to ensure that students continue to benefit from the latest insights in our research. Read more about our goals in the coming period in the interview with me and former Vice-Dean Lex Kaper.

The academic year 2023-2024 was an eventful year. There were several demonstrations against the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, which had large impact on our community and initiated the ongoing discussion how we should collaborate with third parties in war zones. I hope this dialogue continues with respect for each other and socially safety for everyone.

Also, we have introduced two new programmes: the Master's in Quantum Computer Science and the Bachelor's in Science, Technology & Innovation that both started in September 2024. Viewing the educational highlights of 2023-2024 makes me very proud of both our lecturers and students, and I hope their passion for the sciences will encourage and inspire the next generation.

Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Science
