Specialise with a Master's degree

A Master’s programme enables you to gain advanced knowledge and engage in experience-based learning. The specialised knowledge and experience you will gain in a Master are assets in the job market that help you climb the career ladder. With your Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration you are guaranteed admission to one or more associated Economics and Business Master’s programmes. The follow-on Master’s programmes align seamlessly with your Bachelor’s programme.

Masters you have unconditional access to
  • Accountancy and Control

    With a specialisation in Accountancy and Control, you will be unconditionally eligible to our 1-year Master's Accountancy and Control. This Master's prepares you for a career in accountancy or financial management. The programme offers you a challenging combination of academic training and the application of international financial and reporting standards to complex real-life business cases. You will develop your intellectual skills, professional knowledge and gain the latest insights to take with you to your first employer.

  • Finance

    After finishing your Bachelor's Business Administration with a specialisation in Finance, you can continue with the Master's Finance. During this programme, you will gain a deep understanding of financial decision-making and markets. We will train you in a broad range of skills to take with you to your first employer. You can choose one of our 6 tracks and focus on the field that interests you most.

  • Business Administration

    Did you take the specialisation Management in the Digital Age, or Entrepreneurship and Creativity in the Digital Age? And are you ambitious as well as entrepreneurial and do you have a global mindset? The Master's Business Administration offers you all the necessary knowledge and skills to start your international career in business. You can choose from 9 tracks in this Master's, to specialise or broaden your education.

  • Entrepreneurship (joint degree VU and UvA)

    With all specialisations of the Bachelor's Business Administration you can continue with the Master's in Entrepreneurship. During this exciting Master’s programme, you learn how to turn opportunities into action. Thinking and feeling like an entrepreneur benefits your career as employee or business owner. This is a joint degree of VU Amsterdam and UvA.

Did you take a minor in a specific discipline during your Bachelor's? If so, you may be eligible for admission to the Master's programmes relating to that discipline. For some of these, certain admission requirements apply.

Professional development and career preparation during your Bachelor’s

The Economics and Business Career Centre (EBCC) offers advice and support for your professional development. From the first year of your Bachelor’s, you can reach out to the EBCC for:

  • personal advice on your study and career choices (e.g. added value of a Master’s);
  • developing professional skills and gaining practical experience (internship, study-related secondary job);
  • preparing for the Dutch labour market.

Your skills and experiences are essential in today’s rapidly changing job market. With the EBCC's support, you will be ready to start your career with confidence after graduation.

The EBCC and the study associations often organise career events. Here you can expand your network with professional contacts and learn about the latest developments in the field.

Internship and exchange

During or after your studies you have the possibility to do an internship or go on an exchange abroad. For international students an internship is an excellent opportunity to experience the Dutch labour market.
