Book and Manuscript Studies is primarily geared towards researching manuscripts, books, letters, ego documents and picture books, literary publishers, booksellers, and authorship. Research is coordinated by the Institute of Culture and History, with researchers actively contributing to two of the UvA’s research priority areas: ‘Cultural Heritage and Identities’ and ‘Cultural Transformations and Globalisation’. Within the Faculty researchers take part in interdisciplinary collaboration with the following groups: Medieval Studies, Golden Age, and research in the field of History of Literature. Outside of the UvA researchers collaborate with their peers at the universities of Antwerp, St. Andrews and Versailles.
