This minor explores the behaviour of economies at the level of the consumer, producer and various government bodies. You will acquire deeper insights on how markets and organisations function as well as learn to analyse the role that the government plays in the interaction between businesses and consumers. If you prefer a model-based approach and if you have a strong interest in mathematical analysis, this is the minor for you!
After this minor you are able to understand and evaluate theoretical knowledge and current developments in the product and labour markets. This will give you an advantage when seeking employment in the public sector, in private corporations, NGOs and international organisations.
This minor consists of 30 EC spread over 2 semesters. There are 4 compulsory courses which cover a wide range of topics in microeconomics (24 EC). This is supplemented with 1 restricted-choice elective that gives you the possibility to gain more knowledge of a particular subject (6 EC).

For the academic year 2025–2026, you can apply from 1 April to 13 May. You are guaranteed placement if you apply and meet the entry requirements. There is no limit on the number of places.
