Economics helps law students understand legal rules, commerce, and societal impact. This minor provides essential economic principles and methods for legal scholarship. You will analyze theoretical and empirical economic studies of legal issues and apply these insights in analytical essays.
Classes meet weekly for 2 hours, with mandatory attendance. Taught in English using the Socratic method, you prepare judicial decisions or academic texts for discussion. Economic principles are drawn from real cases, with interactive sessions focusing on critical analysis. Law & Economics III requires a short research paper, emphasizing empirical and theoretical evaluation of legal and economic issues.
