Required prior knowledge

You are expected to possess sufficient quantitative knowledge. The minor Economics: Transition Minor (60 EC) is a difficult programme.

This means that students are assumed to have previously studied mathematics at the vwo level A or B. Students are strongly advised to take a Summer School in Mathematics if the aforementioned knowledge is not present or if they would feel more secure after brushing up their knowledge in this field. The course Statistics 1 for Economics provides an excellent basis for self-study should deficiencies exist with respect to the knowledge of statistics.

Application and Admission

For the academic year 2025–2026, you can apply from 1 April to 13 May. You are guaranteed placement if you apply and meet the entry requirements. There is no limit on the number of places.
