What is Complex Systems & Policy?

CS&P prepares for a future where complex systems thinking plays a key role in policymaking and analysis. It creates a space where students, stakeholders, and researchers from various fields come together to gain a better understanding of policymaking and tackle pressing societal challenges related to health and sustainability, such as the energy transition and urban mental health. It works in close collaboration with the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS).

On the one hand you have data scientists who are very skilled at modelling, and on the other hand you have people who develop policies, but there are few people who understand both. That is what makes this programme unique. Elisabeth IJmker (Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies, Curriculum Developer)
