Amsterdam University College (AUC) - a joint institute of the University of Amsterdam and VU University Amsterdam - offers a top quality, English-taught Bachelor's programme that crosses the boundaries of languages, cultures and academic disciplines.
AUC is happy to receive incoming exchange students who are keen and eager to learn in an international environment!
As a Liberal Arts and Sciences programme, AUC offers courses within three majors (sciences, social sciences, and humanities). Students also have to complete courses within their ‘academic core’ (research methods and statistics, calculus, academic writing skills, languages, etc).
AUC students have broad interests, enjoy discussion and debate, like to be challenged, and feel at home in an international environment. AUC is an honours programme striving for academic excellence. AUC students live in a residential college across the street from the AUC academic building.
The first semester starts at the beginning of September and ends at the end of January. The second semester starts at the beginning of February and ends at the end of June.
The semester is split into two periods: a 16-week period, during which the regular study load is 24 ECTS and an 4-week period, during which the study load is 6 ECTS. The 4-week period takes place in January and June. Exchange students are allowed to depart at the end of December and at the end of May if this suits their programme better.
AUC is an international institution with students and staff from all over the world, located in the beautiful city of Amsterdam. We offer a broad Liberal Arts and Sciences programme and all courses are taught in English in small classes (max. 25 students). In addition, you are guaranteed a room on our campus where all AUC students live.
