Sign linguistics is taught at all levels. There is the Bachelor's programme of the same name, in which a wide variety of aspects of sign languages is studied. The Master's programme General Linguistics, which is taught in English, offers a specialisation in sign linguistics. There is also a two year Research Master's in Linguistics, which is meant to prepare students for a PhD programme.
The sign linguists who teach on the programmes also do research. All of them have PhDs and are senior members of the Amsterdam Center for Language and Communication.
