Dutch Studies offers a broad range of clearly profiled study programmes. The Bachelor’s in Dutch Language and Culture (in Dutch) deals with linguistics, language proficiency, and historical and modern literature. The Bachelor’s in Language and Communication (in Dutch) specifically focuses on speech communication, argumentation theory and rhetoric.
At a Master’s level, Dutch Studies has – aside from the one-year programme Dutch Language and Culture – two types of specialised programmes. The Research Master’s programmes are orientated towards literary research (Dutch Literature) and argumentation research (Literature and Communication). The Professional Master’s programmes train students for an academic profession (Dutch as a Second Language, Text and Communication, and Communication and Information).
