With an emphasis on technical and scientific electronic computing equipment, the Computer Museum illustrates the progress in computer technology and its use from World War II to the present day. In order to show how scientific computing was done in the pre-computer era, the collection includes mechanical, electromechanical and electronic calculators, slide rules and table-books.
The greenhouse complex offers the Faculty of Science its own growing facilities for plant research. The complex is equipped with advanced climate control functionality. In all compartments climate, light and watering can be regulated independently with a climate computer. The complex is used for teaching and research.
The observatoria can be spotted from a mile away: the two domes of the Anton Pannekoek Observatorium, the most modern observatorium in the Netherlands.
