Humanities-minded entrepreneurship
The Humanities Venture Lab is home to all humanities-minded entrepreneurs within the UvA community. The Humanities Venture Lab supports the initiation, growth and sustainability of initiatives, encouraging entrepreneurship within the humanities in the broadest sense.
Humanities and entrepreneurship: a successful synergy
Studies in the humanities are not often associated with entrepreneurship. The idea is that you are more likely to start a business if you study economics, engineering or medicine. But is that really the case?
Our activities
We offer a three-step venture development programme and host various workshops, often integrated within the educational curriculum of the faculty. We also provide facilities such as co-working spaces, offices, workshops, event spaces and business coaching.

The four-day programme Create covers all the stages of building a venture, connects participants with experts and like-minded people and helps them create a prototype. -
Accelerate
Our ongoing Accelerate programme provides participants with the tools to strengthen their ventures. -
