Collaboration is crucial in solving complex societal problems, which is why we invite regional, national and international companies, government authorities and civil society organisations to take advantage of mutual knowledge sharing. Collaboration creates value for all stakeholders and increases our impact on society as a whole.

Education: access to top talent

Connection between education and the business community strengthens future responsible leadership in the labour market. Through teaching assignments, guest lectures, internships or graduation projects, you will come into contact with our talented Economics and Business graduates and soon-to-be graduates.

  • AI4Business Lab
AI4Business Lab specialises in harnessing the power of AI, business analytics and data science to tackle real-world data challenges. We are a platform that allows Bachelor's, Master's and PhD students to get in touch with business partners, enabling them to collaborate and solve your AI challenge.
  • Amsterdam Living Case Lab (ALCL)
The Amsterdam Living Case Lab (ALCL) offers the opportunity for students to work with their lecturers on solutions to your specific organisational issue. This will give you new business insights, while we enthuse our students about practical challenges and entrepreneurship.

Joint research: knowledge development and transfer

Research results only have impact when they find application in society. That is why co-creation is essential in our research activities. Traditionally, a lot of UvA EB research originates from societal issues. Our researchers are inspired by questions and challenges from societal stakeholders. Research that is produced in collaboration contributes to solving complex problems. We actively disseminate new insights, so they can contribute to policy measures, spin-offs and responsible decision-making.

Available facilities

On our Roeterseiland Campus (REC), REC Impact is the vibrant hub where academics, industry and society come together to tackle social and economic challenges. REC Impact is an incubator of a culture of impact-based learning, research, innovation and valorisation. Co-creation labs encourage partnerships in research initiatives with impact. An innovation and entrepreneurship studio encompassing 800m² will follow in 2023.

Based in Startup Village, ACE is the university incubator that helps translate science-based business ideas into impactful start-ups and scale-ups.

Independence and responsibility

Ensuring high-quality academic research is a requirement for UvA Economics and Business. Academic integrity and accountability are therefore crucial within our partnerships. The guiding principles in this regard are those stated in the Netherlands Code of Conduct (in Dutch) for Research Integrity.
