To register for Open UvA Courses, please follow the steps below. If you are registering for the first time, you will need to use the online registration form under Step 4. If you are already enrolled in Open UvA Courses for this year and you wish to take more courses, please move on to Step 9.
  • 1. Find the course in the Course Catalogue

The complete overview of courses which are offered through Open UvA Courses can be found in the Course Catalogue. Select ‘course’ and activate the filter ‘Open UvA Courses’ on the left. It is also possible to filter programmes and Bachelor’s- and Master’s courses. For Bachelor’s courses, select Amsterdam College of Law. For Master’s courses, select Amsterdam Graduate School of Law.

You can find the schedule on the timetable website.

Please note: timetable changes may occur.

  • 2. Check the deadlines

Apply for Open UvA Courses at least a week before the course registration period.

You can find more information about the course registration period on the student website. It is important that your application is received well ahead of the course registration period, as it takes time to process your application. If you apply at a later time, we cannot guarantee you a spot.

Please note: other than with a regular Bachelor’s or Master’s enrolment, you do not have to register for courses yourself. The Open UvA Courses staff will do this for you.

  • 3. Check the entry requirements

    Bachelor's course

There is a very limited amount of Bachelor’s courses in English, as our Bachelor of Laws programmes are taught primarily in Dutch. To check whether you meet the entry requirements, please contact the Admissions Office.

    Master's course

In order to be admitted to a Master’s course, you will need to meet the entry requirements of the entire Master’s programme it belongs to. Please go to the overview of Master’s programmes and select your programme to see if you meet the entry requirements.

  • 4. Fill in the online application form

If you want to register for Open UvA Courses, please fill in the form below. Please note that you will first need to create an account, under ‘create’. You will not need an UvAnetID to fill in the digital application form.
