What have you lost? During this sculpture workshop, you will make a personal exvoto, a plaster object that represents your concerns or repentance. Traditionally left at altars as supplication or gratitude, the exvoto offers you a unique way to give emotion and loss a place.

An exvoto is an object traditionally left at an altar or statue of saints to symbolise a deeply felt plea or gratitude for a favour obtained. During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to carve a personal object out of plaster that symbolises something you are currently repenting or worrying about. These objects will be given a special place on the altar of the Wall of Loss, an art installation revolving around themes of loss and mourning. This workshop offers a meaningful way to deal with loss and emotions, through creation and reflection.
