Ruth Mugge, professor of Responsible Marketing (0.2fte) at the Amsterdam Business School (ABS), has been awarded a VICI grant. Among other things, this will fund 3 PhD students. One of them will work part-time at the ABS.

With this grant, Mugge will investigate how to counteract the premature replacement of electrical products. This is because consumers often buy new electrical goods while the old ones still work fine. This has a negative impact on the environment. The ABS professor wants to see how design interventions (changes in the design of products) can motivate consumers to keep using their products longer.

Mugge applied for the grant from her 0.8fte position at TU Delft, but will also work on this research with the PhD student at the ABS.
