You have preferably passed the course Practical training: Psychological communication (earlier names: Psychological Communication / Gesprekspracticum) of the UvA Bachelor of Psychology. If you have obtained another course or other courses in this field, you must have obtained the following learning objectives:
- Be able to describe non-selective and selective listening skills: attentive behaviour and minimal encouragement, paraphrasing, reflection of feelings, summarising, asking questions.
- Effective application of the above skills.
- Be able to analyse and evaluate own social and professional behaviour and its effects on other people. And if necessary, be able to adapt one's behaviour on the basis of the results of that evaluation.

What if you do not meet this track-specific requirement?
It is possible to take an equivalent university course as an alternative for Practical training: Psychological communication (PTPC). You can submit this course with your application so that the selection committee can assess it.
Examples of courses that may be considered an alternative to PTPC are:
- Psychological Conversation Skills 1 at the VU
- Interpersonal professional skills at Leiden University
- Clinical Interviewing: Basic Skills at Utrecht University
- Conversational and Group Skills at the University of Groningen
Alternatively, mention a comparable university course that you have taken, and substantiate how this course meets the above requirement. We are looking for courses with the same learning objectives and methodologies as PTPC.
It is also possible (and recommended) to take the following course with us:
Practical training: Psychological communication (3ec). This course is offered in the first semester; there are 4 starting moments. Please note: by taking the above course, you meet this requirement. However, eligibility for a pre-Master's programme depends on which and how many deficiencies you would have to solve altogether.
