The one-year Data Science Master's track is designed for you to become an all-round data scientist who knows how to go through all the steps in a data-driven project; from how to approach a business or societal problem from a data-analytical perspective (asking the right questions) to the final implementation of data science solutions, while also understanding the organisational and social implications these solutions may have.
In the first semester you will take three core courses and at least one elective. In the second semester you will take one more core course and one more elective, before focussing on your Master’s thesis.
The entry requirements and the application procedure for this Master’s programme depends on whether you have completed your prior education in the Netherlands or abroad.
Yes, the Data Science track is available on a part-time basis. You will complete the programme in two years instead of one. You follow one half of the curriculum in the first year and the other half in the next.
The application process and the deadline depend on whether you have completed your prior education in the Netherlands or abroad. We strongly recommend to start the application procedure at least a week before the deadline. Getting all your documents ready and going through the process will take several days.
For programme-related questions, please contact the Track coordinator, Fernando Pascoal dos Santos
International degree students with questions about the application procedure can contact the International Team using this web form.
All other questions (from both Dutch and international degree students) can be sent using the following contact form:
