I already worked interdisciplinary during my bachelor and I really liked continuing this during my master as well. I think these ideas about the master I had were accurate and my expectations were also met. As expected, we covered a variety of topics and combined this knowledge in assignments. During these assignments we worked together a lot and the interdisciplinarity caused interesting discussions.

During the week we had some lectures or tutorials in which we learned new theories and tried to apply these. Though, a lot of time was spent on group work. Not only working on group projects, but also discussing the study material and helping each other understand the matter better. This mostly came naturally, following the group work and the expectations set for the assignment.

I am planning on doing a research project with the Police Academy in Apeldoorn in my second year. They are setting up an interesting project about testing samples on the crime scene itself, which can aid the investigation. I think this project really reflects my interests as well; the analytical chemistry application on crime related activities. After my studies I would like to continue working at the police, but I would also like to pursue a job as advisor at one of the courts in the Netherlands. In that job, you advise the judges of a court and answer questions they have after reading a forensic report. I am looking forward to everything this master and my professional life will bring me.
