Applicants from partner universities

Erasmus+, Global exchange and QTEM students from partner universities are selected and nominated by their home university. Students can contact the international office at their home university for information on the local application procedure.

General entry requirements

  • For bachelor’s students: at least two years of study completed and 90 ECTS obtained in the field of business, economics or another relevant field of study (including mathematics and statistics) at an academic educational institute in their home country. 
  • For master’s students: A bachelor’s degree in the field of business, economics and/or quantitative economics or another relevant field of study (including mathematics and statistics) at an academic educational institute in their home country, enrolment in a master’s programme at an academic educational institute in their home country (please see specific entry requirements per MSc programme in the course catalogue)
  • Sufficient proficiency in the English language: Applicants will need to demonstrate their English proficiency in order to be eligible for the UvA EB exchange programme. Global, QTEM and freemover exchange students are required to submit a valid English test score when applying.

IELTS 6.5 (subscores: 6)
TOEFL Internet based: 92 (subscores: 22)
Cambridge 180 overall and in each skill

Please note: other test versions or modules are not accepted. Examples of this include but are not limited to: IELTS Indicator, IELTS One Skill Retake, TOEFL Home Edition, TOEFL MyBest Scores, etc.

Make sure to plan your test on time; test dates fill quickly, and it can take several weeks for you to receive your results. Applications without a sufficient score or with a test date after the application deadline, will not be accepted.

Exemptions

The requirement for sufficient English language proficiency can be met if you have obtained or will obtain one of the following:

  • By completing English-taught secondary education in Australia, Canada (with the exception of Quebec), Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom or the United States of America;
  • By obtaining an International Baccalaureate diploma with English as an IB exam subject;
  • By obtaining a European Baccalaureate diploma, with the subject English as first or second language (minimum final score result: 6);
  • By obtaining a French Diplôme du Baccalauréat Général with Baccalauréat Francais Internationale (BFI)/Option Internationale du Baccalauréat (OIB), section britannique/américaine;

Important information for free mover applicants

  • Applicants who are students of a university of applied sciences are not admissible
  • Free mover applicants of partner universities of the UvA might not be eligible for the UvA EB exchange programme
  • Only students with an EU / EEA nationality can be accepted to the freemover programme

  • Grade point average of at least 7.0 (Dutch system) or equivalent

If your country is not listed, the admissions office requires a B+, 3.33/4.00 or 4.00/5.00 or 80/100 depending on the grading system that your university uses. In that case, upload an academic transcript with a diploma supplement of your University in your application.
