A well-rounded scholar has significant value on the labour market. Employers
are looking for people who can combine specialised knowledge with a broad

management, policy and consultancy, education, and research and development.
Examples are:
- You start as an economic or legal policy adviser at De Nederlandsche Bank
(DNB), the Public Prosecutor or Financial Markets Authority (AFM). You can then
grow towards a position as a specialist in governance and integrity at DNB, AFM
or the European Central Bank. You are responsible for developments in the area
of governance and supervision of pension funds, banks and insurers and their
trade associations.
- You are an adviser in an international consulting firm such as McKinsey
& Company or Booz Allen Hamilton. You are responsible for consulting and
change management in the public or private sector on a national or international
level.
- You are a team coordinator or department head within a ministry, county,
municipality, hospital or nationalised bank. You have a vision on new
organisational forms and government, and you can translate this to your
organisation and its further development.
- You may be the grant holder in the Directorate General JRC (Joint Research
Centre) of the European Union, research officer at the Organisation for Security
and Cooperation in Europe or researcher at a university or related research
institution. You are responsible for initiating and executing economic, legal
and/or social science research.
