Gabriel Ramirez Acevedo is currently working as Programme Coordinator for the Bachelor Political Science. At the UvA, he has also worked as Local Functional Manager for the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences, and as Management Advisor for the International Development Studies Master and Research Master programs at the Department of Human Geography, Planning & International Development Studies. Formerly, Gabriel was involved in the management, design and implementation of social and environmental projects as the Corporate Social Responsibility Director for the private consultancy Auditoria Ambiental in Colombia. Before that, he worked in the not-for-profit sector as director of the Leo Espinosa foundation in Colombia and as an assistant to the Vice-president in Conservation International in the US. In his teaching experience, he has been a lecturer in the Environmental Management and Evaluation Masters and the Environmental Management and Disaster Prevention postgraduate program from the Universidad Sergio Arboleda in Bogota, Colombia.
Gabriel holds a Master's in International Development Studies from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, for which he received a Colfuturo scholarship from Colombia. While studying he worked as a student assistant and was elected as the representative of his class to the Programme Committee. He previously graduated with honours from a Bachelor in International Relations at the Universidad del Rosario in Colombia.
