Anouk de Koning is hoogleraar Power, Politics and the State bij de afdeling Antropologie. Haar onderzoeksagenda richt zich op de sociaal-politieke werelden en toekomst die gemaakt worden in de alledaagse praktijk van sociaal beleid en sociale en welzijnsvoorzieningen. Ze leidt momenteel twee grote onderzoeksprojecten (2022-2027), Prototyping Welfare in Europe: Experiments in State and Society (gefinancierd met een Vici Grant) en Social Work and the Art of Crafting Resilient Societies (gefinancierd met een NWA Grant). Deze projecten verkennen de nieuwe sociaal-politieke werelden die tot stand komen in experimenten met sociale en welzijnsverzieningen in Europa.
