Daphne Rena Idiz is a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam’s (UvA) Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA). Her research, supervised by Prof. Dr. Julia Noordegraaf and Prof. Dr. Thomas Poell, focuses on the transformations occurring to European cultural production practices resulting from the expansion of global streaming services, particularly as related to television and film production and regulation.
She holds a MA in Film Studies from Oxford Brookes University (with distinction), where she received the "Outstanding Dissertation Award" for her research on internet-distributed television, and a BA from McGill University in World Cinemas, History, and World Religions.
