Wiepke Bartstra (1993) joined the University of Amsterdam in September 2019 as a PhD candidate at the Centre for the Study of European Contract Law (CSECL). She teaches at the department of private law. Her focus is on corporate and insolvency law.
Wiepke obtained both her master’s degree in commercial private law (cum laude) and her honours bachelor’s degree in law (cum laude) at the University of Amsterdam. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Amsterdam.
Research
Wiepke currently focusses on the effects of distressed debt investment strategies on the positions of creditors and shareholders of corporate debtors.
