A 2-year joint degree Research Master's programme (120 EC) aiming to train future PhD students who will start their doctorate at one of the Schools in Business and Economics of the 3 partner universities: University of Amsterdam, Erasmus University Rotterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

The programme is the entry point to PhD positions at the Schools of Economics and Business at EUR, UvA and VU. Over 90% of the graduates transfer to PhD positions at these departments or start a PhD trajectory elsewhere.
The three schools cover all fields of economics, econometrics and finance and give students a wide choice of subjects and supervisors. During the programme, students meet potential PhD supervisors as lecturers in courses, during formal meetings where researchers present their research, and during the many seminars and conferences. Roughly half of the alumni work in research universities in the Netherlands or abroad, many of them as full professors.

The Tinbergen Institute Research Master in Economics is a selective programme for students who want to pursue a PhD in Economics, Econometrics, or Finance at one of the economics and business faculties affiliated to the Tinbergen Institute. A maximum of 35 students enrol each year. Students are selected by TI’s Admission Board.
Admissions go through Studielink. During the application process in Studielink you will be asked to provide several pieces of information and documents.
Studielink is the national online registration system for students who would like to pursue a degree programme at a Dutch university. All students who would like to apply to a programme need to register in Studielink first.
