Students who begin the standard pre-Master’s programme on 1 September 2024, have guaranteed admission to the Master's programme until 1 September 2025, after they have completed their pre-Master’s package and any additional deficiency courses.
Students may only participate once in the standard Accountancy and Control pre-Master’s programme. This means once-only participation in all lectures and consecutive exams and resits.
If you have not completed the programme after the first semester and still wish to pass the outstanding courses, you should register for these courses through Contract Education Economics & Business.
It is explicitly stipulated that admission to the Master's programme will be granted only after students have passed all the assigned pre-Master’s and deficiency courses. This entry requirement is known as the 'Bachelor-before-Master' rule. No exceptions may be made to this entry requirement for the Master's programme, and no additional examination opportunities will be granted in the event that students have failed to pass one or more courses.
The validation of the followed courses are two years. After this you may not participate in the Master's programme for three years based on a pre-Master's programme in Accountancy in Control at UvA Economics and Business. Courses students have already passed will be declared invalid.
Requirements Post-Master Programmes
Please note that the pre-Master’s programme and possible extra deficiency courses only give access to the Master's programme. If you want to start a Post-Master’s programme to become a certified public accountant (Register Accountant) or follow the Executive Master of Finance & Control (Register Controller) after finishing the Master's programme, you will likely have additional deficiency courses for these programmes. You can request an overview of your deficiencies for the Post-Master Accountancy from the moment you are admissible to the Master's. For more information about the Post-Master Accountancy and the form to request an overview of your deficiencies, please refer to this page (in Dutch). For more information about the entry requirements (like for instance work experience) for the Executive Master of Finance & Control, please visit this page (in Dutch).
