What is data? How did data become so important for seemingly everything, from science to policy, passing by activism and art? Why is so much data about me collected when I surf the internet and what is done with it? How are data collection and use regulated in the EU and elsewhere?
If you know the answers to these questions, you hold some basic data literacy. If you remain curious about some of them, this course is for you. During the course, we will walk you through the history and philosophy of data in the context of science and technology, and through forms of data activism and regulation in the context of governance.
