What does the study programme look like?
The Master's programme in Biomedical Sciences is a two-year programme. The cluster in Neurobiology offers 4 pre-defined tracks in:
In the first year, all tracks start off with an advanced eight week compulsory course in the specific area of interest followed by an optional course elaborating on the subject. Furthermore, every student has to write an academic thesis and do at least one research project of 30 EC. In the third period a number of courses focusing on research skills will be offered.
In the second year, the student has a number of options: students may opt to take on additional courses, for example from another track, or choose to focus more on research by taking on a larger research project.

What are the entry requirements for this Master’s programme?
The entry requirements and the application procedure for this Master’s programme depend on whether you have completed your prior education in the Netherlands or abroad.

I don’t meet the entry requirements. Can I do a pre-Master’s programme?
Unfortunately, for this Master’s programme we don’t offer a pre-Master’s programme. If you are a student from a Dutch university of applied science you may still be eligible for this programme.

How many students are admitted to the programme?
Up to, but no more than, 240 students are admitted to the Master’s programme Biomedical Sciences. If more than the maximum number of candidates are found suitable, candidates will be selected on (in random order):

- Study progress Bachelor’s programme
- Subject of Bachelor’s thesis
- Motivation

Can I study this programme in part-time?
All tracks of the Master's programme Biomedical Sciences are offered as a full-time programme. Due to the nature of the study programme, it isn’t possible to study in part-time.

How do I apply for this Master’s programme and when is the deadline?
The application process and the deadline depend on whether you have completed your prior education in the Netherlands or abroad. We strongly recommend to start the application procedure at least a week before the deadline. Getting all your documents ready and going through the process will take several days.
