While we need our imagination arguably now more than ever, research suggests that creative thinking abilities have been declining steadily since the 1990’s. And generative AI isn't likely going to replace human imagination and creativity successfully.

What does it take to conjure up something truly innovative? The Imagination course premises on the understanding that creativity is not merely a skill or talent but also a process of personal transformation and inner exploration. Creativity also requires better self-understanding, with the ultimate purpose of serving something bigger than yourself.

This course aims to a) deepen our theoretical and personal understanding of what human imagination and creativity is and b) to expand our own imagination and to develop our creative cognitive skills. The Imagination course consists of theoretical lectures from a mix of disciplines (cognitive and depth psychology, neuroscience & the humanities) and hands-on practicals in which we will strengthen our creative ‘muscle’ & expand our imaginative abilities.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of how creative you are and regardless of your academic background. Please note that ‘creative’ is not synonymous with ‘artistic’. This course is relevant to anyone interested in innovation within any domain. This may include all the established areas of design, arts, business, science and technology.
