Arnoud Visser originally studied Experimental Physics at Leiden, where he did research in the field of nonlinear optics. He has since 1991 affiliated with the University of Amsterdam, where he participated in several national and international projects of the Informatics Institute in the field of robotics and intelligent transport & sensor systems.

As researcher I am the founder of the Intelligent Robotics Lab; a cooperation between the robotics researchers at the VU University Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam.
The focus of my research is on cooperating robot teams. For more details, see my research C.V.
Until 2021 I was the program director of the Bachelor Artificial Intelligence. Currently I am responsible and teaching in the following courses in the following programmes:
