  • Profile

I am a lecturer for research methods and statistics at the Department of Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam and affiliated with the program group Political Communication and Journalism.
Until December 2022, I was first a doctoral and then a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Digital Technologies for Communication (ITDxC) at the Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, Switzerland. Here, I also received my PhD in Communication Science.
Beside my teaching and research at UvA, I currently serve as the co-chair of the Visual Communication Division of the German Communication Association (DGPuK).

In my research, I (inter alia) focus on

    • How different actors discuss, frame and envision implications of new technologies, platformisation, datafication, platform and AI for our societies, including implications for public values and citizenship
    • What different actors deem ‘appropriate’ and desirable technology usage and how they define such norms.
