Education

Ik ben docent Academische Vaardigheden voor de eerstejaars biologen aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Daarnaast ontwikkel ik ook lesmateriaal voor het trainen van deze vaardigheden en verdieping van de studiestof.

Personal background

In 2002 I got my M.Sc. in Biology:

• Pollen rain in grazed, parkland landscapes.
• Tropical rain forests; to be or not to be.
• Seed rain and seed bank composition in successional vegetation stages in a semi-arid Andean valley, Suesca, Colombia.

In 2004 I went to Ecudor to collect data for a research proposal that I wrote at the Institute for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Dynamics (IBED):

• Effects of habitat fragmentation on three endemic Gentianaceae in the Ecudorian paramo.

In 2005 and 2006 I assisted at several practical courses:

• Cell biology
• Genetics
• Animal Anatomy
• Functional Histology

Since 2006 I'm a teacher for first year biology students at the UvA.
