Mohinish (Moss) Shukla is a Lecturer in the Brain & Cognition program group in the Department of Psychology at the University of Amsterdam. Originally trained as a biologist, he received his Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience at the Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA), Trieste, Italy. Subsequently, following post-doctoral training at the Department of Brain & Cognitive Sciences, Rochester, NY, USA, he was an Assistant Professor in Psychology at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, USA, where he was one of three co-PIs of the UMass Boston Baby Lab.
In his research, Moss has primarily focused on the relation of language, particularly language acquisition, with the rest of cognition. He is interested in how language is situated in the human mind.
