  • Introduction

I am a PhD candidate at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR). As part of the interdisciplinary Moral Psychology Lab, I study moral conflicts in political discourse and decision-making.

Before joining ASCoR, I studied at universities in Leiden (Advanced MSc in International Relations and Diplomacy), Cambridge (Visiting Scholar at the Political Psychology Lab), and Amsterdam (a BSc in Political Science and a BSc in Psychology).

  • Research Expertise

My research focuses on the intersection of moral psychology, political communication, and (geo)politics. Specifically, I am interested in:

    • How moral conflicts influence (a) public political behaviors, (b) political elite’s foreign policy communication, and (c) the cooperative/competitive dynamics in foreign affairs
    • How human nature beliefs (e.g., hopeful vs. cynical) influence prosocial behaviors in complex social dilemmas, including climate change and polarization
    • How one, in the face of increasingly wicked challenges, can nurture an environment of civil (geo)politics based on sustainable cooperation, trust, respect, and tolerance.
