Corine Meppelink is an Assistant Professor of Persuasive Communication at the Department of Communication Science, University of Amsterdam. She received her PhD in Communication Science (UvA) in 2016, for her dissertation entitled: ‘Designing digital health information in a health literacy context’.
Corine’s reseach interests include the effects of online information and misnformation. She studies how people select, evaluate, process, and use digital information in their daily lives, and is particularly interested in inequalities caused by literacy differences (e.g., health literacy, digital literacy). Corine’s research also focuses on new (AI driven) media technologies and how people cope with them.
