From 2013 up to his appointment at the UvA, Jan Lintsen (1962) was a member of the Executive Board of the Hague University of Applied Sciences, where he was responsible for financial policy, IT, facility management, planning and control. After graduating with distinction from the University of Twente with a degree in Government Administration, Lintsen worked for the central government (Rijksoverheid) for over 27 years. Between 2003 and 2013 he was employed by the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, in the position of director of Finances, Management and Control from 2007. He was previously employed in positions including director of Information Policy for the Public Sector at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations and director of goods transportation at the former Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management.
