International monetary economics, with an emphasis on currency crises, exchange market pressure, optimal exchange rate systems, the political economy of the IMF, and the international role of the euro
Henk Jager (1947) is Professor of International Economics at the University of Amsterdam and responsible for the Faculty's curriculum in that area. He holds a Ph.D from the University of Groningen (The Netherlands). He worked at that university as Assistant and Associate Professor and since 1982 in the present position in Amsterdam. He was visiting professor at the universities of Leuven, Suriname (Paramaribo), Michigan (Ann Arbor), Manila, and Antwerp.
