    Lien is an Assistant Professor at Amsterdam Business School, University of Amsterdam, in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation section. She is originally from Belgium, and obtained her PhD from Imperial College, London. Before joining Amsterdam Business School, she worked as a Senior Researcher at the Chair of Entrepreneurship at ETH Zurich, Switzerland.

    Her research interests include various topics at the intersection of organization theory and entrepreneurship. More specifically, her research focuses on decisions that are made during the early stage development of new ventures, and the lasting effect such decisions can have over time. She typically studies this in the context of social enterprises or technology start-ups.

    In the past, Lien has worked with the World Economic Forum on a variety of topics including data privacy, entrepreneurship as a force for good, and the role of entrepreneurship for the European Green Deal.
