Ellen Algera is an Interdisciplinary doctoral candidate at the department of Anthropology of the University of Amsterdam, the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies and the Amsterdam Medical Center. Her research focuses on the implications of contraceptive self-tracking technologies for women's health, knowledge and care, with a special focus on the interaction between different forms of knowledge with emerging m-health technologies. Her first publication focusses on the sensory knowledge practices of users of self-tracking technologies that prevent pregnancy.
