What does Student for a day entail?

Several of our Bachelor’s programmes offer the opportunity to become a student for a day. This means that you will shadow a current student and join them in attending an actual lecture or tutorial. Experiencing the Bachelor’s programme alongside other students will give you real-life insight into university life and whether the programme suits you! The current student that you will be shadowing can also answer any questions that you may have about the degree programme, studying at the UvA and student life in general.

Who is it for?

Student for a day is intended for students in their final two years of their secondary school, who have already attended the UvA Bachelor's Week. It is also helpful to familiarise yourself with the degree programme beforehand, so be sure to download the brochure, study the web text, and attend a programme information session.

When can I join?

Student for a day takes place between 1 October and 1 May. After registration, the programme will contact you within three weeks to set up a date. Some programmes offer Student for a day on fixed dates, which you can find in the overview. Would you like more information about the programme but is Student for a day not the right activity for you? Check our Open Day calendar to see if there are other information activities.
