DIGIPASS is a multi-university partnership project designed to improve the impact of mobility experiences for students by providing a holistic approach to online mobility support. The project developed a unique online student training programme, incorporating a range of ICT tools and open educational resources, to support students during each stage of the mobility life cycle (orientation, pre-departure, during and after mobility).

EPICUR European University is an ambitious EU-funded project aiming at building an attractive innovative European university by an alliance comprising eight universities. Their vision is to create a university experience to prepare well-informed, open-minded and responsible European citizens capable of creating new knowledge and becoming drivers of transnational innovation. Since the start of the ambitious EPICUR project, all eight partner universities are jointly experimenting with different approaches in multilingualism and European linguistic diversity, in student-centred learning and collaborative teaching, and in new forms of mobility (physical, virtual, blended) via the (virtual) EPICUR Inter-University Campus. The network is piloting new teaching and learning formats:

• Language and culture courses (Modern Greek, Slavonic, Nordic/Scandinavian, Liberal Arts & Sciences)
• Internships in civil society organisations and private enterprises
• Entrepreneurial Lab education and training programme
• PhD exchange programme
• Solve real-world problems for real-world stakeholders in EPIC Mission

NICE began its existence as a multi-university partnership comprising eight different research-focused universities across Europe. It is a virtual learning programme designed to help students develop in-demand intercultural and entrepreneurial skills. The NICE programme is open to all students from the participating partner universities (including the University of Amsterdam) and is specifically designed to encourage students who haven't been able to go abroad previously, have specialised learning requirements, or don't have the time to go away for more than a week. One of our highest aims is to provide an international experience for those students whose opportunity to travel or study abroad is otherwise limited.

Universitas 21 (U21) was founded in 1997 as a leading global network of research-intensive universities that empowers its members to share excellence, collaborate internationally and nurture global knowledge exchange. The member-led initiatives and programmes are designed to inform and assist the development of students, enhancing their ability to work in partnership with their wider communities. UNICA is a network of  +50 universities in 38 capitals of Europe. It considers the voice of students essential in shaping the future of Higher Education and encourages the involvement of this group in the local and global issues pressing universities. The UNICA Student Conference is the network’s event that gives centre stage to students, allowing them to lead discussions, debate with peers from other European Universities, and outline solutions for common concerns. The Student Conferences have provided important forums for discussion and gave rise to new initiatives, such as the UNICA GREEN Working Group. The Conference takes place every two years and is organized by UNICA member universities.

LERU maintains a dialogue and cooperates with the EU institutions and EU-related organisations active in the higher education and research arena on topics such as the European Research Area, Open Science, Horizon Europe and Erasmus+. We do this through direct communication and discussions within the policy community, sound proposals for improvement and progress, and carefully considered publications on fundamental issues affecting Europe’s research universities. Furthermore, the 23 members bring together representatives to work on LERU policy development and mutual learning in a number of areas. There is a constant exchange of knowledge, expertise and good practice in interesting projects on such topics as research management, assessment and funding, innovation, open scholarship, impact, academic careers, higher education including (post-) doctoral training, gender issues and more.
