It will give you a chance to get to know the programme before starting your studies and check if it is the right fit. Choosing the right programme will increase your chances of successfully completing your Bachelor’s.
UvA Matching is an introduction to the Bachelor’s programme for which you have applied. It is designed to help you assess whether you have chosen the right programme, through a combination of online activities such as assignments, reading course literature and/or making a test. The activities may differ per programme.
Once you have completed these activities, you will receive personal advice based on your test results. This will help you determine whether the Bachelor’s programme matches your interests and capabilities and whether you have the motivation and study skills to start the programme in September.
After submitting your enrolment application in Studielink you will receive an email with your UvAnetID. You can use this to log in to your Enrolment Checklist, which is where you can register for UvA Matching.
The dates for UvA Matching differ per programme. Check the programme information to see specific dates.
UvA Matching is mandatory for all incoming students who are applying for a Bachelor’s programme and have not yet studied at the UvA.
If you apply for one of our selective programmes, you don’t need to participate in UvA Matching for international students. These programmes have their own specific selection procedure.
