Jimena Lara is a Costa Rican Communication Science student at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) who has interests in both the field of Artificial Intelligence and Gender Studies. From a critical point of view, she introduces what AI violence is, and unmasks how the dark code behind these machines is a big threat to the queer community. Can a machine be homophobic? How can we protect the LGBTQIA+ community in a fast-paced digital society? How much progress have researchers done in this field?
