The Faculty of Science has already founded several spin-off companies, many of which were supported by Caempus and Innovation Exchange Amsterdam (IXA). The latter has an office at our Faculty location on Amsterdam Science Park.

IXA helps researchers on their way to a spin-off, including obtaining funding (both before and after the spin-off is established) and making agreements with the UvA about, for example, the use of facilities. IXA also provides support in entering into partnerships with external investors, the business community and social organisations.

UvA Ventures Holding B.V.holds the shareholding that the university usually obtains in a spin-off on behalf of the UvA, supports spin-offs at their start and has its own fund to invest in young companies
