Active learning and educational innovation (often involving ICT) go hand in hand. Blended learning is one example: a combination of offline and online learning activities that awaken students’ curiosity and creativity. One form of blended learning is to offer supplementary input, instructions and exercises online prior to the on-campus sessions, which leaves more time for more in-depth exploration and discussion during lectures and tutorials. This concept is known as ‘flipping the classroom.’
