Identity and Integration (European Studies)

Culture is at the heart of the challenges that Europe and the EU currently face. The complexities of nationalism, populism, migration and multiculturalism cannot be properly understood without considering the pivotal importance of identity issues at the local, national and transnational level, and taking into account Europe’s cultural and historical transformations. In the Master’s in Identity and Integration you will study contemporary issues in Europe and the EU from the perspectives of arts, history, media and politics.

  1. You are able to conduct research independently, formulate functional research questions, collect material, analyse cultural or historical sources, apply theory and write a thesis.
  2. You are familiar with humanities methods and approaches to the study of European history and culture.
